It is possible that it could of had something to do with triggering its manifestation. We are more biologically predisposed than most people and then if certain stressors appear its seems to trigger it most often in our late teens or twenties.
Most people don't like to talk about it, but I think that there is a sexual element to our disorder. Our sex drive and hormones are pretty high around this age. I even heard an interview with John Nash where he theorized that that he might have emerged from sz because as he aged his hormone levels dropped. When we get up there in age our libido starts to decrease. I read this one doctors theory that dreams are a discharge of excess libido and delusions and hallucinations are a discharge of excess repressed libido. There is a close connection between dreams ad hallucinations. Carl Jung even once describe sz as living in a waking dream. |

environmental stressors/trauma as well as genetics, also long term drug use could exacerbate it if you are already predisposed to it

I think mine is an extreme freeze response from trauma that makes me deattach from reality, when dissociation goes beyond it.

They don't know for sure because there are so many variations.....we talked about the genetic part when some of us got sequenced.....
https://forums.psychcentral.com/schi...cool-news.html But that part is highly variable not a specific gene and seemingly multiple genes at once contribute.....dopamine and glutamate receptors and regulatory genes are key. Then there are environmental factors....they told me my psychosis was due to workplace stress. But lots of people have trauma....some just hit a certain age and it happens.....one theory there is neuronal pruning....

Yeah, the other point it is there is not schizophrenia but schizophrenies.
Probably same symptoms with different causes. In some people it seems the dopaminergic theory has nothing to do, I guess thats why only 1 of 3 are totally functioning with antipsychotics while the rest only gets a mild-moderate symptoms relief or none. Other people seems to have some kind of brain damage instead of dopamine issue, other people seems to have an abnormal neurons migration-density-response, ...

Scientists think SZ is a inflammatory brain disorder where the brain is over-"pruning" due to these things called "cytokines" causing psychotic symptoms and chemical imbalances that lead to psychosis. If it's true than SZ would be in one way or another a type of immune system disorder.

Nothing does? It's better to ask how sz's doing in our civilized society. Sure we're free to point a finger at anything, factoring in how prejudicial other mediocre minds are, my focus tend to lean towards who talks about it.
I have certain ideas of Whys and I must believe in Hows. Things are as true as an original and time tested pure thoughts can get, when we start to see what rules, only then, the trajectory will be set right. |

Bozos don't know how to think, it's in every actions, it's easier to see than many may realize. Every one of us were youngsters once, every single one of us are/were, you may still be at that stage in life. The safe protection of our intellectual capacity hasn't been successful, it's the trade we do, it's always the repeat, the revisions in which we brush up our skills as a merchant, and from that point of view, this whole thing is ludicrous, is this what we call Machiavellianism? This is like a stockholm syndrome, you ask for half 'n half and that'll be exactly what you'll be gettin'. Ask none and contemplate.
