So I've been put on Seriquil the past 2 months. It has helped so much with the psychosis and hallucinations. I am noticing however, that I am having like breakthrough psychosis coming through again. Does it take a while to get doses right? I was so hopeful that it was gone......

Sometimes its not about the dose so much as the duration, it takes time to heal----what kind of dose are you on?

I was put on 300mg straight away after 5mg of olanzapine. It was for psychosis, but not hallucinations. If Seroquel or any AP is too high I have recently learned it dampens your mood majorly. They deplete the vitamins the brain needs like magnesium and b vitamins needed for energy and nervous system. So get yourself some supplements.
From being on forums for years I see how tough a time some people have in finding the medication that works, and the dose levels.
I got put on a CTO (Compulsary Treatment Order) it basically means sectioned. The doc was adamant quetiapine mustn't be working as I was suicidal, to the point I escaped the ward and sat at the highest peak of the hospital at least three times. I tried the most common APS - clozapine, respiridone, aripiprazole and after 8 months and ECT the ar$%holes put me back on the quetiapine that I started with so the whole detainment was just a dent in my life won't get back.
I will just end by saying that quetiapine is quite sedative but you can get used to it, I know it is hard. I also tried Amisulpride and never worked. Tried nearly all the popular ones. Quetiapine was always best but you might get different side effects.

I am on 150 mg Seriquil for Scitzoaffective bipolar type. The Seriquil has been great... Maby we could elevate dosage. I see Pdoc on Monday and will tell her about my concerns. I am also on citrilopram 60mg, Trazadone 150, and hydroxazine PRN for anxiety. Thank you all for your responses!

That's actually a pretty low dose, maybe you should bump it up a bit though I think 3-400 is more typical and you can go up to 800. Just watch out for side effects and know you can always go back to a lower dose. Good luck with the pdoc Monday

Your dose is quite low. It sounds like a dose increase might be helpful for you.

Generally speaking, therapeutic dosages of Seroquel start once you get to around the 300mg mark and up. Some people take up to 800mg or more. With 100-200mg of Seroquel, some people who are especially sensitive to its effects may see some improvement, but for most, that dosage won't accomplish much except maybe act as a really powerful sleep aid lol.

Hey y'all just an update. Saw my Pdoc and we did up my dose of Seroquil to 350. I started my new dose last night. I slept better and didn't have any thoughts of parinoia today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the perinoid stays at bay! Thanks for all the comments and posts.
