I thougt it would be interesting to see how many people in our category had ring of the ears. I have a constant high pitch ring that tends to get worse at different times of the day. Do any of y'all struggle with this tinnitus?

Yes. It started when I was detoxing from Klonopin in 2013, and it never went away. It freaks me out to think of it.
Thanks for this!

I've had tinnitus for a long time. Not sure what causes it, I've never bothered to ask my GP as it doesn't bother me that much.

Yeah like DT said, I have this after being on Lithium for like 2 months, along with fever and some other flu like symptoms. I stopped taking it for a week now more or less but my ears are still ringing.

Aripiprazole/Abilify gave me tinnitus titrating up, and when the pdocs stopped it cold turkey, but it went away after a few weeks. My pdoc said that it wasn't the aripiprazole, but it is a recognised side effect in the BNF so he was wrong.

I don't have tinnitus, but I hear screaming 24/7 (except when I'm unconscious) and have for the past 3½ years. It varies in volume and can be hard to cope with at times. But, as with tinnitus, you have to try not to listen to it because listening to it strengthens the brain pathways, which would make it easier for your brain to hear it. I forget what the fancy medical term for that is...might be habituation??

I have it and have dealt with it for many years. Don't know if it is related but it sure does not help me, just adds to the difficulty. Some medications can and do make it worse. You can look up "ototoxic drugs" on the internet. Will give you a list of drugs that can damage your hearing. I was suprised by how many are on the list.

I have it. It used to be all the time when I was a teenager but now it's just now and then. It doesn't really bother me.
