It's weird to explain but I literally feel like a vampire through my veins. I have urges to drink human blood! Logically I know I can't be but I still feel as though I am! I have urges to slit my wrists and drink my blood. I tried to cut but the knife was blunt!

You should perhaps raise this with your doctor.

I agree this would be a good discussion for your doctor. Especially if you are tempted to cut yourself.

Thx for Ur replies I told my therapist. She just said : you're not a vampire' but that didn't make me change my mind. I did have a blood test s few weeks ago and my iron levels were fine but that is a good idea. I'd not thought of that! Maybe my levels have gone down! I'll try n make an appointment with my Dr and see what they say. Thx for your replies!

Hi Asphyxia, thx for the article it was really interesting! My Dr said my folic acid levels were low and she wasn't sure whether that would lead to the cravings. I ended up having a massive break down and now I'm under the crisis team and on diazepam. I'm having a mixed reaction from the crisis team. Some really listening but the one I spoke to this morning basically accused me of making it up!!! I'm devastated!!! Why would anyone make something like that up!!??

Unfortunately, from my experience of MH services in the UK, both in Wales and in England, accusing people of making things up is pretty standard. It really hurts though and I'm sorry that they're doing it to you too

that is really bad i hope you report this person they shouldn't say things like that they should have a open mind to things you not making this up why would anyone do that
what if she was to say that someone who is suicidal is making it up and that person was to kill themselves that night its up to you weather your report them or not but this person shouldn't be working in the mental health field.

If they sacked everyone working in MH who shouldn't be working in MH, there'd be hardly anyone left!! Lol

You could try complaining, but the likelihood is that you'd be gaslighted. Nobody ever believes the crazies...

I did complain to another crisis team member who said I must have got it wrong, he wouldn't normally say something like that! Your right tho what if I'd wanted to commit suicide at that point it would have thrown me over the edge! At the end of the day they all stick together!!
