Re-watched The Theory of Everything yesterday, in honour of Stephen Hawking's death. Such a great film, and such a remarkable man!

On FB, Rethink posted this quote of his, which I liked:

Quote:

The problem with the "theory of everything" equation he searched for his entire life is that it's impossible to translate things such as freewill, qualia, beauty, morality into hard mathematics. Furthermore, physics is based on probablism, which means there is a modal mismatch between our logic and how we describe the world. Logic's necessities are different than physic's probablism.

Mortal Kombat Annihiliation? lol

My mother would never let me play that game because it had too much blood. The first movie was okay, but it went down hill after the first.

I saw Lady Bird yesterday. It was really good, pretty funny at points.

That was such a snobby way to put it. lol I'm sorry Willow. A Brief History of Time is a small book with big ideas. I liked the read because it was like a good sci fi book.

No need to apologise! I've been thinking about what you wrote before over the past few days. I'm kind of torn. In a way, I like the idea that everything in the universe can be explained by one elegant equation. Perhaps that's our human desire to feel in control of everything? But I also feel that will never happen because there is so much that we cannot explain and can never hope to explain because we mistakenly believe that our subjective experience is the way that things are; scientists as much as anyone. "Reality is the product of the observer" and all...

The SHape of Water was fantastic! I tried to watch Mute on Netflix. that sucked. I recommended Vanilla Sky to my roommate... but she laughed in my face. It was so great they made the movie twice, once in Spanish, without tom cruise, then again Americanized with him. Both had Penelope Cruz of course. Can't believe that goddess went for him. Dream girl!

I've always been a huge Al Pacino fan, mostly because of his work as Michael Corleone, so I've been watching a lot of his movies that I had never seen lately. I watched Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico, and Carlito's Way. All three were great!
