Going to see my sister at the psychiatric hospital after a break in an hour. Any tips for how to talk with her that might be comforting or thing anyone wishes had happened when people visited them?

One thing that's nice is bringing stuff, even if it's a card....somehow people do this if you end up in the regular hospital but not in the MH. My friends brought me books to read and a cupcake and some cookies.....that stuff is so comforting since you can't be there the whole time....

Just being there. I was never so happy to see my husband. It was comforting since being inpatient is scary as it is.

Bring a game like connect four to play together while you have ****** decaffeinated coffee together. Books are very nice.

She was mostly very negative and angry and depressed that she was there. But we did bring her cards and asked her if she wanted any snacks, but she said no.

Thanks, I just hope she accepts the help we are trying to give. I so appreciate how kind and compassionate you all have been.
