Hi,
I have delusional disorder. My main symptom for the past 6 years is that the government is spying on me, following me around and looking at my most precious personal photos of me and my cat. Recently, I had a very stressful period and I started getting very scared that I'm sleepwalking. I'm scared that I uploaded my most precious photos of me and my cat who recently passed away onto the Internet in my sleep (which I always keep under lock and key because they are so precious to me), I'm worried I took indecent photos and uploaded them onto the Internet in my sleep, I'm worried I looked for inappropriate or illegal images or sites in my sleep, and did other inappropriate or illegal things in my sleep. I am going to buy a security camera to see if I'm sleepwalking, but I don't know what to do about past episodes which I have no knowledge of. I have no known history of sleepwalking, however I do have sleep apnea which can cause sleepwalking, and I take quetiapine, which can also cause sleepwalking. This is even worse than my thinking that the government is spying on me, because I have no control over my actions and I'm not even sure what I've done in my past in my sleep. I've talked to my psychiatrist over it but he didn't even want to adjust my meds... any advice would be most helpful. |

Hello lookingforhelp: I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central.
I'm sorry you are experiencing this difficulty. Unfortunately I don't think I have any suggestions to offer you. Perhaps there will be other PC members who will have thoughts they can share. I know you mentioned you've discussed your concerns with your psychiatrist. However I wondered if you're seeing a mental health therapist or a psychologist with whom you can delve into your concerns. Talking your concerns through with a therapist or psychologist might help you to put your fears to rest. Here are links to 3 articles, from Psych Central's archives, related to the subject of delusional disorders: Delusional Disorder Symptoms Delusional Disorder Treatment Coping Skills For Delusions | Psychosis & Schizophrenia I hope you find PC to be of benefit. __________________ "I may be older but I am not wise / I'm still a child's grown-up disguise / and I never can tell you what you want to know / You will find out as you go."
