In the past years since I was diagnosed with bipolar first and then schizoaffective I feel like my life stopped. I don't do much except for spend my days watching tv and reading a little. I don't have many friends and don't keep in touch with them well. I am dating someone I see him the most. But basically I take my pills and sit in my house and do nothing. I did so much before all the pills I'm now on but I was so unstable and out of control that I know I need the meds. I just had another added last winter and feel better after that addition but I feel very sedated. But it's better than not being sedated as far as my condition goes. I've lost my desire to play piano, do my old hobbies, even wash my hair regularly and put on makeup. I just don't care. But if I'm not on these meds I really am out of control. My friend reminds me of that from time to time when I complain about my apathy. I can't even feel love with my boyfriend..... I feel like I can't feel anything. My life feels like nothing.

Honestly it tends to be the illness rather than the meds that cause this...it might actually be worse without the meds.....of course I and many others blame it on the meds from time to time because it's hard to tell if it's the meds or not because you tend to start them at the time you're most ill. Anyway these are called negative symptoms and they tend to start with a, anhedonia, avolition etc.
