I asked my dad what he thought about the bf and told him that he talked about our future.

My dad immediately looked at me and said “youre gonna lose your disability check if you get married”.

I was kinda floored.
Because this check has been holding me back from so many opportunities. I dont want it to hold me back from getting married. If I continue with this disability thing in life im gonna be very very regretful of not doing more in life. Its held me back from school a bit (certain things, certain schools, policies etc), jobs, it’s embarrassing when people ask where i work and i tell them im on disability. Etc.

I dont want this check to be my whole life. I cant stay at this clinic forever, forever recieving shytty, subpar, bottom of the line care.

Well the dr never called me back so I drove here and told them I’ve been calling for 2 days and no one has called me back. So they are going to triage me. That’s one way to be seen. ****ers.
My stomach hurts so bad I feel sick and I can’t stop shaking.

So about fifteen years ago I went to the hospital in extreme pain in the lower right abdomen.....I thought it was my appendix....turns out it was something called a torsioned ovarian cyst. They did like every test had no idea and decided to do exploratory surgery....when they did it turns out one of my ovaries was bleeding....it hurt massively and my belly was all puffed up....long story short I felt sooooo much better even by the next day and everything has been fine ever since. I hope all goes as smoothly for you...just because they don’t know yet doesn’t mean they won’t find it.

I have a weird feeling my parents don’t approve of me getting married. Either in general or to him. I havent talked to my mom about it but my dad said something weird.

You think people be happy for you. Im not even engaged or moved in yet

The check thing is a big deal, I had forgotten about that. From what I remember you qualified on your dad’s work history and don’t have your own credits...my concern is what happens if you get sick again and don’t have the ability to get disability because you don’t have enough credits.....I think it takes like a ten year work history otherwise you have to do the income based one and you get a lot less money...still not sure if you can be married for either one but a minimum wage job can’t support two people. Can you get married in the church but not legally or something....you know have the party say vows but not be legally married...would you be ok with that?

Twelve years ago I had nausea and stomach cramps creep up and I thought I had something wrong with my stomach. It turned out to be a non cancerous cyst on my pancreas. After they went in and aspirated it the pain stopped.

I had an MRI, I think, and I forget what else. I hope the doctors will help you ASAP.

Honestly i dont think id be ok with that. That makes no sense to me.

Either i gotta set up multiple forms of income along with a job. As well as the bf. Or idk not get married. But thats total bs.

Well I guess my feeling is not everything is about the law....I mean you can love someone and vow to be with them forever without making it legal...most of the legal aspects have to do with splitting up money and kids in the event of a divorce.

I dont see it as law unless you talk about getting benefits from marriage like healthcare and stuff. I see it about a bit religious reasons.

That’s why I asked if you could have a church ceremony without making it legal ie signing a marriage cert.

The only way this will change will be with new laws....Start a movement or join one, put it on your blog etc.
