Hello,

I'm 31 and end of this month I'm going for the schizophrenia diagnosis. I also have bpd, dependent personality disorder and ptsd. What's best treatment for schizophrenia? I'm against meds they only made it worse for me.

Meds are pretty much the only treatment in most countries and even where there are other treatments like cbt meds are still the most effective.

Hello Saskia: I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central.

I don't really have the answers you're looking for. However here are links to 5 articles, from Psych Central's archives, on the subject of schizophrenia that (hopefully) may be of some help or at least interest, the first by our host Dr. John Grohol, Psy.D.:

Schizophrenia Treatment

Psychotherapy & Other Non-Medication Treatments for Schizophrenia

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Schizophrenia

Art Therapy: Beneficial Schizophrenia Treatment?

Schizophrenia Education Guide for Patients and Caregivers

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.
