Thanks @SlumberKitty. Yeah once they have the quantitative results they’ll decide how to treat him. Most likely Doxycycline for a month. He has zero symptoms so it must be early. I really don’t know all that much about it. All I know are the horror stories...my aunts dog died when her kidneys shut down, etc. it’s extremely common here and about 2/3rds of people I know have had it. So sad. __________________ Schizoaffective, PTSD, Anxiety

My mom has lymes disease. She developed rheumatoid arthritis from it. She got bit by a tick in her 30’s.

@ofthevalley My sister's dog has Lymes disease, I'm not sure how they treat it I just know otherwise he's just a big healthy happy yellow lab like any other dog, he's 4 or 5 years old now and doing well

Thanks @Blue_Bird! I’m glad he’s doing well. Labs are one of the breeds prone to the worse parts of Lyme. It’s weird. Hoping the same for Henny __________________ Schizoaffective, PTSD, Anxiety

Okay. Getting out of my head.
Making marinated steak tips with carmelized onions and broccoli casserole. I hope they come out good. It’s my first attempt at a kinda BBQish marinade. Bought Henny a whole rabbit for dinner. Don’t tell the Easter __________________ Schizoaffective, PTSD, Anxiety

Went to the doctor today. Just regular check in. He explained to me that me seeing the psychiatrist last week was more for his sake than mine. He wanted to be sure how to treat me and to see if any changes needed to be made.
So no changes to make except lifestyle ones. He said I could try upping seroquel to 150mg see if that helps. He doesn’t want to start messing around with my meds since they’re helping a lot. I’m excelling at work and he doesn’t want to start screwing with anything unless we have to. He said in the long run we could consider switching seroquel for abilify. Make me less groggy. Doesn’t really help me with my OCD tendencies and that though. |

I made it through. I finally was able to pick up my Geodon. phew. I couldn't sleep last night, and my stomach felt like it was in knots, my stomach was clenching all day. It's easing up now though. My pdoc also gave me 2 refills so that was cool. That was tough.
Talked to a friend on facebook. He seemed disappointed in me because I never want to hang out, and asked if we were just internet friends. I just don't enjoy company like I use to. Now everything takes so much effort, and im not interested in anything lately since the Seroquel. I can't see my pdoc until may 31st which sucks. She's good though, she understands that flat affect is an awful way to live. On a side note, today was the first day in a long time that I haven't had any alcohol. |

I listened to NPR's Fresh air. They had a half hour special on the history of psychiatry and how it evolved to sell drugs for mental illness. They didn't go over anything schizophrenic related really, but how the pharmacutical companies boomed with the advent of SSRI"S, specifically Prozac. Also, because lithium is an element, they couldn't get a patent on it. Also, how now pharmaceutical companies are trying to steer away from drugs because there really hasn't been a really new class of drugs out for quite sometime and everything is becoming generic, which they can't make money off of. I have a hard time believing in that last bit. Also, the woman being intereviewed studied the history of psychiatry which was interesting, and also how powerful the placebo effect is.

Hi all, hope you are well. My wife is home from hospital and improved somewhat, although many things simply will not change.
I'm struggling to find people to relate to. Most people caring for a spouse as ill as mine are elderly, and retired, while I'm struggling to balance work with care. Or, they're a parent caring for a child - a hugely completely different situation. I know this isn't the appropriate place either, so sorry. I have been having an influx of simple "hello" voices, which i always answer even if its inconvenient. I figure that may be the best. But they go away. And thats sad to me. |

Have had a really bad night.
Spent a few hours believing my neighbors were spying on me for the FBI and reporting everything I do to a van down the street. Also was hearing voices confirming all the delusional stuff. Took my Geodon and Klonopin and it calmed down though. Feeling a bit better |
