Yeah I use music to block out unnecessary noises outside. It helped with the disturbance from neighbors.

This may sound nuts, but telling the voices that I'm in charge and to be quiet helps me.

My 19 year old son was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia, and just returned home after 3 month hospital stay for 1st episode psychosis. We are trying to give him space and not pressure him to do too much as this has been a life changing event. Question: my husband and i feel like he was more lucid in the hospital. We are noticing that he is experiencing some motor changes (little shaking and decreased rate of motion). Is this the illness or meds? 5 weeks on clorazil and he is also taking ativan. We are concerned for him because he wants to go to work and I feel like his physical appearance is going to make people question his abilities. The doctor said there are no limitations at this time except when driving. Please offer any info that you have to share. Thank you
