I think I have schizophrenia I usually don't see things but when its dark out I start to see shadow people if people surround me and its light up with lights normally they only appear for short instances but when i'm alone and not in a well lit area my Adrenalin starts and get a little neves just about being alone and then the shadow people start to stay for more extended periods of time and the more scared i get the more facially defined they get eventually they stat to speak to me and at that point its to late to calm down and they run after me and teleport etc but I can usually catch it early and calm myself down and i don't go to the extremes that often I am 16 and i have one person on my fathers side that has schizophrenia and two on my moms side one of them was even committed for it my question is should I get officialy diagnosed how much can they actually treat me because if I am diagnosed it will probably limit my future job possibilities, and I don't see why I would want to limit myself if I cant actually be cured because I can still control my nervousness before it gets too out of hand i am not a violent person at all and they don't tell me to hurt anyone or do anything bad they normaly just threaten me so i don't think i'm any danger to anyone else

I’m not sure if you have full blown sz yet, but since youre young you may qualify for some other interventions in a first episode psychosis program. Often this is very low dose antipsychotic with therapy and it works really well. Catching it early is a good thing it means less meds which means less side efffects and often you can get a full cure.

I agree with @Sometimes psychotic It's best to get these things checked out early. Early intervention is key. I don't have schizophrenia though my great grandpa did. But I have depression with psychotic features. Thing is, I had depression for at least four years before I started getting treatment for it. I don't know if earlier treatment may have caught the psychotic features part and maybe dealt with that sooner. But the time that I didn't get the depression treated means it just got worse and worse. I couldn't control it. It spiraled out of my control. HUGS to you. Kit
