Using empirical research drawn from field studies on the policing of 'skid row' communities, this paper illustrates some of the theoretical, methodological and ethical problems that confront the researcher who studies surveillance and counter-surveillance within these contested settings. We begin by noting how, with the increasing use of the 'broken windows' policing model to regulate deviant individuals and to secure derelict urban spaces, researchers may be implicated in the use of surveillance and counter-surveillance by community stakeholders. Drawing examples from direct and covert field observations, field notes, and photographs, we demonstrate that there is a significant potential for the researcher to become identified as an agent of surveillance, and as a potential target of counter-surveillance, within such settings. We conclude by considering some of the theoretical, methodological and ethical implications of the researcher's complicity in these dynamics for both the conduct of surveillance studies in general, and for urban fieldwork in particular.

Thank You, for all your feedback, it's great news that you find the topics of interest as I am asking questions as to how a form of countermeasures can seriously aid you to cope and navigate through whats supposed to be a delusion or visual hallucination when they are in fact psychological assaults.

Has or would anybody upon this forum ever thought in terms of hearing voices and being subject to cause stalking/mobbing campaigns within their community as a very real converted threat upon the mental well being and lively hood of that said individual.

I know full well learning a little bit about counter-surveillance and psychological warfare can assist you more than you think, the question is has anybody asked why that is so!

I believe I was targeted by some sort of government surveillance program. Not just on the street or online. I believe there's a certain section of the media who are also involved. I pretty much dont hear voices anymore since being on clozapine. One thing that helped me carry on with my life was that I stopped caring about what they were doing to me and i think they just gave up because i didn't let it bother me anymore. Maybe they got bored idk.

Thank you for your bravery to speak out amongst a landscape of misinformation and public gaslighting campaigns accepted as normality.

You may have been watchlisted by a network of people who wish you ill intention upon your person and use very subtle means to achieve this result.

Have you come across the UN's Nils Melzer as he is reported to be accepting of cases of what he has termed as Cyber Torture, as it's carried out using wi fi or wireless communication technologies think in terms of Blue Tooth or WBAN systems and Sensor Nodes. Hence the terminology, no UFO's or grey required.

I am also a TI feel free to PM any time.
