Well, that's a much more reasonable price.
I don't really advertise this, but I helped build a medical device company. So, I know a little about drug and device pricing. And what I can tell you is that in the United States, prices are all driven by one single thing: quarterly earnings conference calls. Has nothing to do with what is sensible or fair or what someone can afford. It's about big, big cash. I'll never forget when this whole thing all dawned on me. We were at a company retreat and, as we were leaving, I noticed multiple sales reps getting into these 50, 60, 70 thousand-dollar cars. This was, like, 20 years ago. As I got to know them better, some of them extremely well, I learned that many were also living in homes that cost well over a million dollars--and this is not just in CA or NY. 20 years ago. So, that's why these sales reps work so hard, some of them. They are making huge, huge bank. Huge. And this is why my generic Provigil is $800 a month. Cha-ching!!!!! __________________ When I was a kid, my parents moved a lot, but I always found them--Rodney Dangerfield |
