I was on Haldol for a few months and then it gave me akathisia...literal hell. Benzos didn't work, cogentin didn't work, so I had to come off of it.

Doesn’t
Benydryl work for that on a temporary basis if you can take it? I’m allergic.....

Since beta blockers (Lowering adrenaline in the body and stopping hand tremors) can help with akathisia, it would make sense that caffeine can make akathisia worse...

"Thorazine may significantly reduce the action of dopamine, causing such Parkinson's disease-like symptoms as muscle rigidity, tremors, and slowed movement. Additional effects may include dystonia (muscle spasms or contractions), akathisia (restless legs syndrome), and dyskinesia (involuntary movements)."

"It was soon recognized that all typical antipsychotics had the potential to cause EPS, including parkinsonism, acute dystonia, akathisia, and TD. Typical antipsychotics include chlorpromazine, promazine, haloperidol, perphenazine, fluphenazine, and pimozide."

BB!.. When do you see your psychiatrist again? Your meds are horrible. I'm not trying to scare you but the suffering that you're going through is real and it doesn't have to be like this...

. The thing is my meds help me a lot. And I usually don't have any side effects from them. I don't know why it happened last night, I'll bring it up to my doctor next time we talk if it keeps going on though

It could have been just restless leg syndrome now that I think about it. Since it seemed to happen at night. If it's that, cutting back on caffeine can help. I've had akathisia before and it was really bad to the point it made me want to

Possible trigger:

impulsively kill myself to get rid of the feeling

so maybe it's not that.

My mom used to give me a few m and ms which I would chew halfway then add the pill and swallow....was a great incentive to get m and ms.

We got somewhere in the range between 15 and 25 inches and it’s still snowing 😃 We had 18 inches as of 5:45 this morning and it's still going
