Idk what’s wrong with me.

Either I’ve been having a derealization episode (which I have always seem to have often) or my anxiety is highly spiked idk. I find myself needing to take my ativan more and more. Like once a day. Or twice, every once and awhile.

I wonder sometimes if I have body dysmorphia. I’ve been dealing with issues of that for maybe 3 or so years. Maybe 4. It’s hard to explain but my body idk... I feel skinnier than I am. And I sometimes feel like there’s a problem with my arms or legs or head or whatever, thinking they are bigger or smaller than usual. All kinds of things that may borderline on hypochondria.

I’ve come to realize I have a lot of stuff going on that I don’t know if it’s congruent with schizoaffective or not. I definitely have loads of phobias but I’m wondering if the derealization and stuff is congruent with schiz. I always seem to have voices in the background and sometimes visuals, but they are minor for the most part unless I’m highly stressed out.

But, I have severe hypochondria, agoraphobia, social anxiety and just general anxiety to the point where I can’t live my life how I want.

Pastor T said it is definitely not a demon that is bothering me but a hallucination or delusion and to make an appointment with my psych right away. I already have an appointment on the 6th. I don't think it is going to get any sooner than that! Sigh. Ugh. Now I just feel crazy.

Had a good sleep. Waking up now. Waiting for noon Vyvanse and coffee to kick in.

I'm still hypnotic in the morning. I usually am.. I need a lot of sleep and sleep floors me 12 hours a day of my life.

Happy New Year's Eve!

Gonna study blockchain today once I brush my teeth, clean out litter box, dishes, garbage etc..

Idk if I should drink champagne at midnight with my mom and sister.. I only had one drink THIS YEAR.. I'm sure a small glass will be ok.

As an addict, I predict that people are gonna get reallllyy ****ed up this New Years night lol.. Well maybe not cuz of social distancing..

What is the best way to fight with hallucinations and delusions? My T always says to talk back to them which I don't really do because often if I am having them at work or something I don't want to be that crazy chick who talks to herself. I try to get distracted and that really does seem to be one of the best ways to fight it. Pastor T says to fight it with faith but that's where I think he is a quack. If it was something that could be cured by faith I think it would have been already. Not that it couldn't be because you know miracles happen, I just don't think it's going to happen in this case. It can be hard to get distracted at work if I am not busy and that's the hard thing.

My pdoc said it was mental engagement....so what I do if it’s a visual is so something intensely visual with my mind or if auditory listen to music and sing along....you want to use your brain....for visuals I picture a series or rings spinning with every other ring spinning in an opposite direction....it immediately breaks the hallucination.....

Have been living for 34 years, miracles only happened to me after I put in the hard work. Like, you do your best and then yes the universe will conspire to help you. Distraction sure help yes. What also helped me were the meds and changing my mindset and environment. Stressful environment will only make us feel worse

I think the best way is to be mindful like any other stressor. Try to have a more positive outlook on them. For me, voices didn't bother me - I tried to find meaning in them just to occupy myself.

With delusions, you need to trust yourself and realize that YOU aren't your THOUGHTS. You're much more. Make a time during the day - Every day, to challenge the delusions.. But that's less important than talking to a therapist or someone close to you about them so you have a different perspective (99%, people don't believe in the delusion and will reassure you. The delusion will come back within a few seconds but positive reinforcement can help to train your brain to realize when certain thoughts aren't real).

Until then, keep trying different antipsychotics to find one that works. Everyone reacts differently to every med because we all have different brains and neurochemistry.

Thanks SP. That seems hard. I will have to try to get to the point where I can do that.

Most of my visuals I just sort of ignore, turn my back to them, stuff like that. If it is auditory then I usually listen to it although I shouldn't.

This one is sort of weird because it is more like I sense it in me trying to control me and trying to control my thoughts and then I can feel his hand on my throat but I'm not seeing him as clearly as I usually see visuals so that's why I thought it was a demon. It's weird. I guess anything I can do with my senses would be good though. I might just call it a day and watch a movie and listen to it through my headphones. That usually helps.

I think many therapists fail in getting to the core problems of their patients mental illness. They teach you how to handle it like how to live your everyday life but it’s more like distractions instead of fixing the core problems. Talking about our problems helps, yes, but only talking won’t take us anywhere. We end up sounding like a broken record, same old problems after years. I see this mostly with people with trauma.

I definitely agree with you about the stressful environment. I'm pretty lucky because Normally my work isn't too stressful. The job I had before this one was really stressful but this one isn't so stressful on any given day.

I'm taking meds. Not sure if Pdoc will want to change them. He seemed iffy last time but kept them the same because I told him that T thought I was doing good. I hope he doesn't just add another medication though. I'm getting sick of taking pills.

For tactile I use touch...something unusual like a hair brush or scrub brush over my arm....it usually feels so intense it breaks the tactile hallucination....
