So I feel like there are other people inside me. I looked into DID but I'm not sure. These people have their own distinct personalities, likes, hobbies, etc., and I know how they look and what they sound like, how old they are, their history, and so on. I can hear them talking in my head both to me and to each other. I can feel them overtake me sometimes and in those moments I will feel like I am not in control of my body or not like myself at all. When they tell me to do things, I feel like I have no choice but to follow their directions.

I have hallucinated since I was a child, maybe 7 or 8 years old, and one of the people appeared when I was around 10 years old but I did not really pay attention to her until I was 12, in middle school, which was an extremely hard time for me. I also have great gaps in my memory.

I'm not sure what is wrong with me or what this problem is but it is greatly affecting every part of my life. I have no access to a professional diagnosis and am not sure what to do.

Dear pinklucozade,

I am so sorry that you are burdened with what you wrote about in your post. It must be a source of stress and distress in your life. I think you are exceptionally heroic to have carried this burden so many years. Wish I knew what to say that would help, but I am not a physician or medical professional. Hopefully others here with more knowledge, experience and wisdom will see and respond to your post. I do want to welcome you here to the Forums. I have found this a nice place where one can communicate with others going through the same or similar things. People unafflicted with mental health burdens have no idea how burdensome they are and how heroic are those who bear them. I sure hope you will eventually be able to be diagnosed and treated so you will not have suffer this ordeal you describe. So sorry that I could not be helpful to you.

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

Welcome to MSF, pinklucozade. I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions to offer you. I noticed you posted this in the Schizophrenia & Psychosis forum. The Dissociative Disorders forum, here on MSF, may also be one to read through as well as to post in regarding what you're experiencing. Here's a link just in case you haven't already found it:

I hope you find My Support Forums to be of benefit.
