I’ve been watching a lot of painting tutorials from Skillshare or YouTube, a lot of these teachers make painting looks hard and/or complicated. Then I watched Bob Ross and he made it look easy. I was thinking that’s the difference between teacher and legend. Anyway I probably should focus on painting one object over and over until I get it right, but I can’t stop myself from making a complete painting instead.

I think thinking about things like this is very important otherwise we’d be living a life without truly living it. What are we without a meaningful goal? Just wandering around aimlessly. Though we need to be careful not to fall into depression.

I still am not sure whether or not to do this Intensive Outpatient Program. I am kind of convinced I need it on the one hand, but on the other it does cost a lot. I am not sure I get the support I need. Anyway, that has been on my mind.

Where do you think or what do you think would give you the most support?

I think doing that program might, at least while I wait until my meds kick in again. I have been very depressed lately. My parents also don't seem to understand how depressed I am (I live with them at the moment). I literally can't work anymore. I get too anxious for that.

Does therapy normally help you with that? I haven’t done IOP but it seems to be mostly therapy and activities.....

Honestly, no, therapy doesn't help me much with severe depression. It's mostly meds that help. I'm just concerned that during this time it's going to be brutal and I basically have nothing to do. I guess I can find other things to do. Things other than the IOP group. I just kind of have to go it alone I guess.

Is your library open for programming? It’s typically free and a good way to meet people with similar interests. So is meetup etc. when I was in recovery I used the opportunity to green light a lot of things I always wanted to try but just hadn’t. The ballet, zoo, art museum etc. a lot of that you can do alone or with family.

For me too I buy stuff, stuff that’s fun but I wouldn’t normally buy and then I tell myself well it’s cheaper than therapy, lol. You mentioned music...have you ever played ukulele...it’s more than just strumming there’s also fingerstyle and it’s an inherently happy instrument.

Lent is starting up in February (the 17th). I'm giving up skipping workouts. So basically I'm just being consistent with them, because I have a bad habit of skipping them sometimes, putting them off, then a couple days go by and nothing gets done. It will help my self discipline to have even more of a reason to stick to it.

@Blue_Bird

Have you tried goals that doesn’t have to deal with your weight? Maybe different goals that’s reasonable to help you get motivated slowly but surely. Reward yourself and that doesn’t mean just food but self care... if I had the money my favorite thing is to get pedicures. Or save up money and buying something just for yourself.
