I've been having trouble focusing for quite a while now. I've had some good days where I've felt normal and have been able to focus, but it's been really hard most days since my mood started shifting around.

Especially since the last couple weeks where the doctor says I sound manic. I've felt really restless and unable to focus on things for a long time.

If it continues past when you’re stable again get tested for adhd....I don’t know for sure if it’s the APs or if it’s just a comorbidity like anxiety is, but a lot of us have both and you can get accommodations at school for it. Now If it’s just the mania it’ll go away....I had almost no memory when I was manic....I had to write everything down.

I should’ve been doing that when it was here but in my recent defense it’s literally been raining every day since the winter storm has been gone. So like for 2 weeks now or so.

Yeah, I'm usually good and able to focus and get stuff done. My sister has ADHD and we figure my dad also had it so I guess there's a big chance I might have it.

But I think it's mostly because of mania right now. If I continues I'll for sure look into it.

Ugh I got like two and a half hours until my exam and I'm here refreshing constantly and looking at my phone instead of rereading my study notes.

Go out with an umbrella or use a sad lamp.....it’s not as good but still better than no sun.

My sister has a SAD lamp somewhere but my doctor says it might not be a great idea to use because it could set off mania in some people.

You cant use it more than about 15-30 minutes....my doc was against them but later said if you use them carefully it’s ok because it’s one of the few things to treat bipolar depression effectively....

I, for my part, am still trying to find the right balance of meds. I am seeing another pdoc tomorrow since my relationship with my other pdoc (the one I've stayed with for a while) has soured.

I don't know what the new one will recommend but I'm pretty nervous about the appointment tomorrow. I hope they don't screw up my meds. Or want to screw up my meds.

I still get really, really tired in the mornings though my depression has improved significantly.

Oh and part of me just wonders if I should stay with the old pdoc but part of me doesn't. I hate being so confused about things!

Like, I wonder if just taking more olanzapine would help my decision making. I don't know.

I forget if I asked but have you been evaluated for ADHD? The olanzapine increase would probably not help unless you’re actively psychotic and that’s what causing the issue.

My sister asked me what I'm doing today and I told her that I'm going to organize. But I actually have no idea what the hell I'm doing.

She never asked me what I'm doing today.. And this is the first day of the project lol..

Maybe when the stimulants kick in, I'll be more clear minded.

I basically need to set goals and prioritize.

I think the exam went well. My manic energy helped me bull-**** some things hahaha. Maybe not perfect but I think I got a good mark.

No I haven’t been evaluated for ADHD. That would likely be the culprit though. I’ve had these terrible problems with impulsivity and inability to make decisions. My pdoc always thought it was psychosis related. I personally don’t think it is related to psychosis because I haven’t had any other symptoms of psychosis.
