To preface this post, I have schizoaffective disorder bipolar type.
This morning around 4:30 I woke up at my normal time to get my son and drive him to work. But I walked into the living room and heard a great sound- it only lasted 1 or 2 seconds. It was like a band suddenly striking a chord very loudly. I know I was not dreaming. I was awake and I STAYED awake and took my son to work and came home and did not go back to sleep. Does this count as a hallucination? I've been having voices say demanding mean things, but this isn't talking, it's just sound. Would Haldol help if I took it 12 hours after the fact or should I just say never mind? The other hallucinations have been going on for a couple weeks. I've had hallucinations before but not often. I take Haldol 2-4 mg PRN. __________________ Wellbutrin XL 300 mg Caplyta 42 mg Ingrezza 80 mg Ativan .5 mg 2x/day Propranolol 20 mg 2x/day Mania (December 2023) Mixed episode/Hypomania (September 2023) Depression, Anxiety and Intrusive thoughts (September 2021) Depression & Psychosis (July/August 2021) Mania (April/May 2019) |

I would wait and if it keeps happening then maybe take it, I wouldn't bother with taking it if it happened 12 hours ago if nothing has happened since then

I don’t respond any differently to one off events.....now if it’s escalating it might be time for a prn.

I agree with the others. If it keeps happening/doesn't stop, take the PRN. That being said I'm also told to take my PRN (Zyprexa) if my paranoia is severe and interfering with things like eating and sleeping, or if I can't sleep, or if I'm getting more agitated than I care to be.
