Hi ppl,
I watched Stephen Fry's documentary on bipolarity In short, a guy on the documentary feels like a veil is being lifted when he gets mania and psychosis and he gets a real glance at the reality of existence, some kind of secret reality or parallel reality, in his own words. Now, must admit I have also felt that way, but I must also add that the illness has seriously b_u_llshitted me in several occasions and even put my life in danger. So, this is the question: are we just ill or there is a hint of truth in our illness, something more profound that can't be easily explained but describes some sort of secret universe around us... Thanks for your input. ![]()

There are different theories about psychosis: I've heard it as wanting to run away or escape. If that is the case, I'm wondering whether the 'insight' or 'clarity' precedes the psychosis??

Hi Gal. It's the first time I hear your theory, it may be well like that for many people. In the case of the guy in the documentary (he may appear in the 2nd part, I don't remember), he feels like walking among angels... it might be different depending on the person. I truly don't know how to tell "real" insight from delusions trying to trick you...
Thanks for your input. See ya ![]()
