I have taken something like 8 of the quizzes here. All seem on the mark accurate. Of course one diagnosis may have qualities of another. But, regarding Schizoid Personality, I knew I was 10 years before the doctors diagnosed it. Since the Schizoid diagnosis, it drives off therapists. They think there is no cure or treatment. I know the treatment in my case, and there may be a cure. The problem is lack of resources in overcoming the causes.

I have some 26 semester hours of psychology and sociology. Though that is now 20 years old schooling. But I have learned more from on line sources and meeting other people.

New guy here. Hope I strike up some interest. I believe my profile is open for viewing. I will add onto that as I proceed.

Hi FerretGuy,

I too have taken many of the quizzes on here. I only recently (last year) found out I had schizoaffective disorder. Before then I never imagined it was that bad. Always just thought it was depression. Somehow managed to overlook the hallucinations.

Anyhoo, welcome to P.C. You'll make tons of friends here. If you want to chat PM me or catch me in the chat rooms.

Love and Hugs,
Tara

[quote=tarabug922;926837]Hi FerretGuy,

Tests like this have revealed more about me than therapy itself. As a Schizoid, I am talented at masking anything wrong. Even if I try not to.

I also have schizo-affective disorder-I've never heard the term "schizoid" except as a negative naming of someone who's sick. I live in the Portland area. You should try meetup.com&see if there are any support groups for people like you&me or for men w/mental disorders period. I found a good self esteem group through them. Best of luck&who cares if your information is 20 years old? At least you have taken the time to get that info-I think a lot of us take these courses to try to find out what is wrong with us because we KNOW something is. God for you at your self realization&I know what you mean about docs diagnosing too much, too little or too late.
