I have read about some information about sociopaths and i believe that my fiancee may have this disorder. most information i found states that there is no treatment. I need someone advice on what to do or if anyone knows of a way to help.

Well, reading information about it doesn't mean you know enough to make a diagnosis. I don't mean that to sound as harsh as it does, but too many people read stuff on the internet and jump to conclusions.

If you are concerned about his behavior, maybe try and get him to see a counselor or psychologist. What exactly makes you think he is a sociopath?

I second the recommendation to go to a therapist and get a real diagnosis. I understand it is hard to seek an outside opinion sometimes but it sounds like he needs some help .

IMO antisocial disorder as well as things like "oppositional defiance disorder" sound like they get put together by someone taking a bunch of behavioral and attitudinal affects/artifacts which could result from a VARIETY of OTHER illnesses (bipolar, OCD, etc.) and just focusing on them without looking for any deeper causes.

Try to find out what might be causing the behaviors and attitudes that seem like APD or ODD or whatever and you will likely find out something deeper underlies it.

Why they do this to some people and not others -- look for deeper things in some, discount it in others and treat them like nothing but bad children needing punishment, more or less -- would be beyond us.
