Hi guys I thought I might share my story with you guys. I have suffered from mental illnesses all my life. In high School I had an eating disorder and now in my twenties, I have suffered from mostly visionary hallucinations and little of auditory hallucinations. I took some time off from work to recover. I am now better and working in the medical field. It took some time, but I was working with a great psychologist and psychiatrist. The past visionary hallucinations still haunt me, but I have not had any visual or auditory hallucinations in the past 6 months. I am on the following medication: Remeron 15 mg (anti-deppresent), Ativan (anxiety), and Risperdal .25 mg (anti-psychotic). I am only 25 yrs old and I am a female. I have a new boyfriend who I don't want to scare away so I have not opened up to him by my past mental illnesses lol. However, I have noticed that I need to talk to people and socialize because I don't want to be alone in my thoughts since my mind is a dark place. So I basically do what most 25 yr old females do, I go out on the weekends, party in NYC, and talk on the phone allot. For months, I would not leave my house and would just lay in bed all day. Believe me I had a rough life, but I just think positive, listen to good music, and watch allot of comedy movies. I surround myself with people with a great sense of humor and I'm hanging in there. If anyone wants to talk msg me.

Hi, I'm almost 25. I turn 25 in January. Glad to hear that you made progress. It's a difficult illness and I'm here to talk as well.

I'm glad you are doing well. I know it is not easy to open up abouth one's mental illness as people can be discrimanating. There are 2 things that can happend, your boyfriend could run away/care about it.f he really loves you, he will support you by going with you to follow up's and so on.

Speaking about speaking to people, I also like to speak to people because their listen, but also we need to speak to theeople we have issue's with and not friends as the issue's still remain many times. The advise offriend are good and well, but not always good.

Keep up the going out on weekends. That is nice. Also have your family to visit you at your place. It's also nice to have people over.

Let me know what else you're doing to make life enjoyable.
