Hello, I have been diagnosed with Schizotypal Personality Disorder for a while now. I am not sure when my oddities became severe enough to cause me hardship... I have recently been discharged from hospital for having what is believed to be psychotic like features but is merely me on a very bad day. They say that Schizotypal people have an unusual way of viewing the world, they call it maladaptive however I see it as more like a unique viewpoint. Like seeing the world through a tinted lens but the lens is really crystal clear. Hm I'm not sure I am making sense. I guess I just wanted to say welcome to this sub-forum peculiarities and all.

Hello Apocryphal. I think you make very much sense.

I know what you mean. For me everything is a magical force and everything has a story to it. No one seems to appreciate the complexities and wonders in the very simple things in life. I obsess over things like this and have trouble explaining but it all makes sense in my head.

Hi, I have just found this site and can't believe that there are other people who feel the same as me. I always thought I saw magic and wonder where others saw banality and the mundane. I was treated as epileptic for many years before the diagnosis of Schizotypal personality disorder was made as all the strange things I saw were put down to the 'aura' that you often get with epilepsy. There are no support groups in my area and I just get blank looks from my GP(if he can bear to make eye contact that is).

I was wondering, if I had myself committed would I get my SSI quicker? Existing on air is getting old after 3 plus years.

Just joined, thought I'd come here to socialize and cozy. I sympathize with you Lulabell, I had something similar happen. Hands out and hugs to all of you. El-Ahrairah, I see all as pinpoints and embers glowing in void and the embers are individual things but what we feel is their ecstatic heat. Forgive me as I try to sympathize as I can. But at least go with the hugs!

IMO....I think Schizoidtypal's see the world much clearer than the "Normal" folks, they are just afraid of us, because they can not see the doors standing wide open in the hallways they pass thru.......
