So sometimes, not always, but maybe three times a month I would hear or see something for a split second.
Like a laugh, a quick grunt all in a tone of a voice that I don't hear when I talk inside my head, it's like it really came some from someone and I hear it as if it were real, but there is no one or anything there, I have a dog but he doesn't make noises like the one I hear. Or beeps, I hear beeps a lot. Then when I see things it's like tiny bugs walking around or a shadow moved, or something moved in the corner of my eye... This something anyone else experience ? I thought maybe it was spirits of the dead but I am not sure... __________________ "Tear down the wall" |

I get this a lot as well. Especially seeing shadows move and things in the corner of my eye.
I also hear things. Voices in water and people yelling my name along crowded streets. It's very unnerving. I don't hear beeps but I do get tinnitus I think, ringing sometimes in my ear or music playing without any stimuli. I'm not sure what it is either. I used to think, and sort of still do, that it was things from another dimension that couldn't quite take full form in this universe. I sometimes see them much more clearly and hear them whisper when I'm trying to sleep. Sometimes it is impossible to sleep with all the noise. __________________ Who do you call when you're losing your mind? Who do you trust when you can't stop looking behind? |

Hmm my hallucinations aren't that bad, I can still sleep but I think the same thing about the noise/physical forms falling into the wrong dimensions or perhaps some people have the unique ability to pick up things certain people can't because sound does create form :3 __________________ "Tear down the wall" |

I have always seen those shadows (I'd use figures) if that's what you want to call them. Sounds also... but somewhat less.... try to tone things out much more! And it's harder to do with my eyes unless I keep them closed all the time.
I've had an aunt move out of a house because of things like this... and I mean pack up and move for that reason only. __________________ |

If I had $1000 for every time I thought I saw a cat in my periphery vision only to realize it was something completely different or nonexistent I would have enough money to go through a year or two of college :/ maybe it's just because my vision sucks though.

Wasn't speaking of a cat nor an animal. I mean those things you never understand or find out what it was... or even IF it could be nonexistent.
...things that make you go HMMMMMMMM? And my family are the type that don't believe in.... mental illness ect. So like my aunt thought of it as spirits within that house. __________________ |

I hear my mobile phone ringing or vibrating when it isn't. I can sometimes hear my alarm going off when it isn't.
Yeah, I get 'corner of my eye' hallucinations and at the same time I get a feeling that something else is there in the room with me, standing over my shoulder. I know it's not real, but it does freak me out sometimes as it happens so unexpectedly. |

I hear music, my phone ringing and I get the corner of the eye stuff all the time. Mostly I think it's bugs but when I turn my head there is nothing there.
My Pdoc asked me if I have hallucinations and I told him no, should I have told him "yes"? |

I think a lot of people get the corner of the eye stuff more than they realize. But I also think it can be like other things that bother us that other people don't get bothered by or notice too. I can't tell you how many times I've awakened to the phone ringing when it wasn't. A lot of my sightings now I put down to being my reading glasses frames or something (hair?). I was attacked by a card on my couch arm this morning, sliding off, I thought it was a bug (we have lots of spiders and now, crickets)

Oh, that caught my interest Perna......the phone thing. The first time I grabbed the phone in the dark, after one ring, to keep it from awakening my husband. The next night I grabbed it four times. I'm thinking to myself "well, it could have happened".........it hasn't happened since, but yours' was the first post I've seen mentioning it. And yes, I've got the corner of my eye thing, etc. Are we having fun yet? (((((hugs to everyone who can use them)))))........greylove

Honestly, I think everyone gets the out of the corner of the eye thing; the light shifts, or a shadow passes from a light outside, you think something has moved just out of your periphery vision. Sometimes, I get that electrical hum when i go to bed, but it seems to become white noise and fade after I have been laying down a bit.

I heard it called "shadow people".
Reminds me of a book I read recently about the secret history of the world. Basically a book that looks at history through the lens of the occult. Interesting, but author does mention that some people think that there is a fine line between an initiate of the occult and insanity. |

Y'know I actually have friends that have seen ghosts and friends that have hallucinations because of mental disorders. Sometimes they are similar but there seem to be distinct differences to these people.
Me personally, I tend to see things or hear things so I've done my best to debunk them to see if I was my brain playing tricks or trying to make sense out of something else that was there. I wear glasses so I've learned how to tell teh difference between a strange reflection or shadow that could be misconstrued as a figure of some sort and sometimes I have seen things out of the corners of my eyes that can't be explained. It wasn't my hair, or a piece of dust or anything... My most clear examples are really seeing cats out of the corner of my eyes like Kaika. At one point I was really bothered because sometimes I would see clearly a cat walk across a door way or run past my legs. I wouldn't think anything of it until I realized that the building I was in had no cats. As for hearing things, I used to hear something whisper my name out side of my window and I've never really had auditory hallucinations except for when I'm coming out of or going into sleep. And those were often just really vivid dreams or me talking to myself in my sleep. I tried to say it was just a bird. I've also heard my name shouted while in crowds. Often times the mind will try to make sense of a noise it has made and will turn the noise into something more familiar. Another portion of the time is that One can get so used to hearing a particular noise constantly and will thus create this noise simply for no reason it seems. Like hearing the cell phone go off when it hasn't in a while. Perhaps you really are experiencing spirits, try to see if you can explain anything you experience like a piece of hair next to your eye or a creek in the house being transfigured into laughter by your mind. See where that takes you. If you're concerned that they are spirits, tell them that it's okay for them to move on and that they should leave. Out Loud. Even if there aren't spirits, sometimes it can put your mind at ease to say this out loud to yourself. yikes, sorry that was so long.. |

I don't think they are hallucinations, I think there are things that we don't understand. But I guess the just before sleep ones can be a type of hallucination, that happens between wake and dream state, and it's common and normal people experience this. I hear different voices call my name, Sometimes it's me or my husband or someone I have never heard before. I have heard the pager or phone go off when it's not.three knocks at the door and no one there. It's really a type of sleep disorder. Can happen when just waking up too.
Other things can't allways be explained away as hallucination. |
