How can you say that whole groups of people with interests and beliefs in the paranormal are actually suffering from a personality disorder? That is so out ragous. My whole family Starting with my aunt and parents to us three siblings have beliefs in the paranormal. We were brought up with it. Granted, we all have various issues, but I don't think we fit the schizotypal disorder. I took the personality test for personality disorders. I didn't answer the one obviously put out there for people who beleive in the paranormal. I got various answers besides the one I was diagnosed with in my twenties, in my fourties now. I think its a bunch of hogwash. You need much more in depth questioning and you need an experienced therapist to say what one is. But to base one on the paranormal when there are whole groups of people out there who are basically normal except for belief in the paranormal.

I agree with you too....but unfortunetly the society we live in as a whole does not see it that way.....and ignorance breeds fear .....which in turn causes their fear to turn towards us with shunning....lets face it, if this were the 15th century we would be burned at the stake.....such a shame -the ignorance of the masses-. Like the saying goes "Don't under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups". *sigh*

You would think they would evolve over time especially when there's been many tests done by psychologists on the paranormal. Yes, burned at the stake. But p-doctors telling people they have disorders when they have paranormal experiences, is just odd. There are shows on tv with plenty of (usually, lol) normal people checking out the paranormal.

Well, I have read the definitions and though I am an odd duck I do like to relate with people to an extent. My friends usually call me before I call them. I am allways afraid of what i will find to say to them and whether or not I can keep the conversation going, so I avoid them. But they love me enough and I must say the right things, becausee they text me and call me and forward me to death. I love them all, but sometimes I just want to be alone. So what do you think of the diagnosis? I have tourettes so I do many a weird thing. I knit everywhere there is possible to knit. People may find that eccentric. I go nowhere with out it. But really, is that that odd?
