Hello everybody. Earlier this year I saw a neuropsychologist to see where I stand on the autism spectrum because more and more people cannot see my autism symptoms anymore. The doctor explained how the symptoms of autism and schizotypal personality disorder overlap and believes that I should have been diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder all along and the autism diagnosis was wrong.
I strongly feel that I have the sensory issues that are more often associated with autism and they will never go away. Most information about schizotypal personality disorder does not mention sensory issues. |

I agree with Kaliope; is it possible that you can get another opinion? If you disagree perhaps they can review why they believe you fit the diagnosis of Stpd?

I have been trying to reach a psychiatrist. Even though I don't wanna be medicated all the time I just need a psychiatrist for diagnosis and monitoring because that same neuropsychologist believes I'm at high risk for suicide when I told her as clearly as I could I do NOT wanna die. I most certainly disagree with her rating of my depression.
