.. studying forensic psychology. My question is this: Can I practice any form of psychology since I suffer from a severe mental illness (schizoaffective disorder - bipolar type)? If I can't, I don't want to waste my time with a major that won't get me anywhere in the future. Thanks!

My suggestion is to ask your college advisor.
And if not, change your major right away.
Since you are just starting out, you won't be wasting any time,
(or money!)

Peace!
