Out of the many things I regret in my life, not finishing high school is one of the major ones. I can't tell you why I did that or what made me think it was the logical answer at that time. But I do know that I have put this off for way too long.

So, I am proud to say, that is a few weeks time I will be taking my GED test. I'm nervous and excited all at once. I'm not sure what to expect and I am working extremely hard to study and prepare myself for this.

If anyone has any advice, it will all be welcome. I can't wait to do this and finally be able to start going to school to get a career. Wish me luck!

I would recommend getting the prep books for the GED and also having someone help quiz you if possible. I wish you lots of luck with the test!

I'm so happy for you! It says a lot that you have made it to this point, so many never leave the "wishing" stage. I think this increases the odds that you will be successful, if not this initial time, then the next. But this time would be good, really good!!!

My guess is will you do very well and hopefully, pass your first time around! The composition of your post is indicative of your above average intelligence. But those types of tests often contain material that none of us use in everyday life. So, like someone else said ,study from the prep books. I believe you said you are studying hard so, cool! That just increases your odds of success.

I want to share this story with you. My nephew dropped out in 11th grade, got married, lost a baby, went to work in a Frito-Lay plant. Had 3 more children. It's been 19 years since then and he will soon finish his Master's degree in business!

Proud of your efforts! You can do it!

Good job!
I don't know what level of education you have, but my brother and step-sister both got their GED and said the test was super easy- so prepare for the test...but don't stress about it!

bravo! bravo! Nowdays it means the same as a high school diploma, and maybe more because of situation and circumstances, perseverance etc!

I agree, study for it....maybe while listening to classical music (helps the brain learn and recall) eat a good meal beforehand, and try not to over stress.... if you find you block during it, stop close your eyes, breathe and calm... I wish you well!!!

Try getting some books about the GED, some preparation guides and after you've studied, get someone to quiz you on various items that you've studied. Don't try to study for hours on end, take breaks of 5-15 minutes then go back to studying. If you feel that the information is no longer sinking in, then shut the books because anymore and you'll find you'll be taking steps backwards.

From what I've been told about it, the GED test is rather easy, possibly easier than the normal high school final exams.
