Starts in 2 hours, actually.
I DON'T WANNA GO!! ![]() Stupid university won't let me get my BA degree (graduation in November) unless I take one last class. This one seemed the most interesting... But it's a LOT of work for only a 2 month class!! (Assignment, essay, midterm, final exam and class participation). So much comprehensive stuff for a 2nd year class! At least we only have FOUR books to read (all 300+ pages) and the coursepack. I DID read "War of the Worlds" yesterday though... it's actually a lot better than the silly movie with Tom Cruise in it.

I read that stuff for fun....and yes, the books are usually better than the movies.

So, he only took 1.5 hours of the entire 3 hour time slot... so I'm kinda glad.
I'm currently reading "Slaughterhouse Five" which is kinda fun... I'm dreading all the coursework though. ![]()

Hmm... that doesn't seem that odd to me. We have had more than that much work for a month-long class before. Mid-term, regular exam, comprehensive final, 2 major projects and reading a 300-page long scientific text, as well as daily homework and other projects. Oddly enough, it was one of my favourite classes I've ever taken. <_<

"Take it away" from the University and turn it into something useful/helpful to you. Start thinking about themes to write your paper on based on your major/interests. Ever notice how some mental health issues seem rooted in science fiction (hallucinations and paranoias, the "vortex" of depression, etc.)? Maybe reading/writing/thinking in terms of science fiction can help with mental health like poetry and art therapy do? Don't make me go into L. Ron Hubbard and his religion :-)

Wow, you had that as an option. I'd totally take that if it were offered at my university.
What I do when I'm getting overwhelmed about the amount of work in a class is I say, I can't do all of this at once, I can only do some reading today. It's like I ignore that there is a midterm, paper, final, essays, etc. and say I can't do any of that until I read the material. The rest seems to fall into place after I've done the reading. But then, for me, the reading is usually the most difficult part. Whining is part of college. If we didn't have papers and exams to ***** and moan about, what would we talk about in between classes? Haha

Oh it might be fun. I have taken classes I thought were boring and unnecessary and it made me change my whole perspective of them after taking them. This could apply to you.

![]() Man, I'm not complaining about it again. ![]() It's gone okay. I've gone to classes, I handed in the short written assignment (which was a JOKE at 1.5 pages DOUBLE SPACED) and am now waiting until later (Wednesday) when we find out about the midterm on Monday. Ick. It's gonna be a long weekend.

Two final hurdles...
The final essay worth 30% due tomorrow (I got an extension b/c of my medical stuff)... And then my final exam on the 25th. No more classes, YAY!
