I graduate tomorrow... I'm nervous. Scared I'll find some way to mess it up - even though it's got to be bloody hard to do that!! I'm so nervous about actually being closer to being out in the "real world" with a job and everything... I'm graduating with my BA in Psychology

Think good thoughts for me, please?

I'm back in school on Monday (currently in my second undergrad, in Religious Studies) but the fact I'll have a very expensive piece of paper is anxiety producing!!

Thanks

Congratulations.......

Does your college have the career office like mine did here in the US? It was a wonderful thing as companies came there & actually held on campus interviews for jobs in the area & even out of the area.

I had 3 job offers before I graduated to choose from once I graduated. It was an awesome feeling not to have to go out searching for that job once I had my degree.

The companies know the positions they are looking for to fill with college grads so it's great for both the companies & the grads.

Good luck with your degree.....sure there are many opportunities available.......that first job using the degree is a wonderful feeling.

I am glad for that! And I wish you to use your diplomas all your life! :-)

How many years have you had to study for this one and how many do you still have to study for the second one?

I am so sorry I can't add some flowers for you! I don't know how to do it. therefore all I could hope is that you'll imagine them! What would you like for your graduation? :-) : hug :
Thanks for this!

What an accomplishment! Does this mean you will continue post graduate or is this the time for job hunting. In any case, I know it wasn't easy, as I remember the day I got the same degree and went to work. I found work to be twice as easy as school and couldn't believe they were paying me for it! You'll like it! Kudos! billieJ

At the moment, doing another undergrad degree in religious studies. But I'm *hoping* to be accepted into college for September 2010 to do a college diploma. I want to be accepted into the Social Service Worker program, which is like a Masters of Social Work, but WAY easier to do, way easier to be accepted into, and less likely to burn out in the real world (social workers burn out really quickly). Downside is a lot more paperwork and less money... but maybe less stress too!!

I've been in school five years for this three year degree. I was originally in a 4 yr degree but had to drop down because of my grades. I've also got a couple of learning disabilities, so have been going with part-time to just barely full-time school studies. I can't manage 5 courses per semester, so I register for only 2-3.

If I finish this second degree, it should take me about another 2-3 years.

Honestly, it's still all... surreal. I wasn't ever expected to make it this far. I'm actually upset because the entire day seemed... rather... normal? Which is weird. Not sure why.

Sorta responded to billieJ above answering this briefly, but I really want to be in a job helping people.

I don't care if this is in social services, human resources, teaching or counselling... I just want to help others. At the moment, leaning toward working in the government (pays well, likely to hire me since I'm a disabled woman, etc) but who knows for how long. I really think I'd love being a teacher, but the teaching profession has too many qualified people right now and not enough jobs for what I want to do (elementary school). But maybe in the future... I was told I'd make a good therapist, but not even considering that right now since that requires me to go for my Masters (I NEED A SCHOOL BREAK) and requires me to be sane. And I'm still working through a lot of my own crap and I think that's more important right now.
