When it comes to doing my home/classwork I cannot focus on it.
It's not that it's boring, but my mind just wanders off.
Or the phone rings and whomever it is won't leave a message so they hang up and call again!
And taking the phone off the hook isn't an option because my son goes to headstart and they need to be able to reach me.
It's driving me nuts!
I guess it's because the house is so quiet where I'm used to noise, but if I play the radio then I start listen to it instead of focusing on my work.
I would love to leave the TV on down stairs so it sounds like someone else is home, but we're trying to keep the power bill down around here so that's not an option.
My mother has found this herbal focus stuff, but I have to talk to my P.A. first. (Joy joy)

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sure that's it's tough to be a mom and trying to go to school, too. You might share your concerns with a counselor at the school. Have you ever had problems with focusing before? Or is it just lately?

Maybe reading and talking out loud could help....

Dear Busiemommie,,, People often underestimate the effects of stress on the mind's ability to focus and process information. If this might be the case with you, perhaps your sleep is also being affected ? This is one of the rare times i would suggest you consider seeing a doc,, even a Pdoc. Be careful with all new meds,, i hope you know that. I have an answering machine that lets me turn off the ringer and only listen when someone actually leaves a message. It was cheap, and well worth the few dollars i spent, as i tend to jump out of my skin when the phone rings. Hope you find a solution soon~!! Gus
