So I went into my advisers office after waiting for nearly a month to see her and get my classes all organized and ready for the Spring 2011 semester only to find out I would not be able to be immediately admitted into the Teacher Certification Plan because my SAT was 10 points off. You think after being in college for more then 3 years would be proof enough that I can handle the load but no they still go off of the darn SAT scores.

Next instead of actually figuring out which classes I was going to take so I can actually sign up before they are all filled up she told me I have to go meet with ANOTHER adviser if I want to switch my major over from math to interdisciplinary studies. So yet again it is a waiting game waiting for Monday to come so I can go and meet with yet another adviser and by golly if they tell me to go to another adviser I might just flip out!!

So my life for the next week will be consumed with studying for finals, meeting with adviser after adviser, signing up for classes if I even can get into them.

Also my GPA might not be high enough to get or stay in the Teacher Certification Program anyways because I have an F in one of my major courses (go figures that I would fail something I thought I would be good at). I guess I can just sum this semester up as a struggle at the least. And starting the semester out with an extreme bout of depression doesn't help either. I just had no will to even go to class or do anything. I pushed and went to class but probably didn't get anything out of it.

All I want to do is teach math to 4-8th graders. I'm not asking much but yet again my dreams seem unreachable.

Sorry for the length and the rant

You are doing what you can and that is all you can do. Your frustration is so understandable and getting sent from one advisor to another....maddening. Take this weekend to focus on your studies and let the rest of it go. Easier said than done but distract with studies, relax with some other things: fun things too and relaxing/take care of yourself things mixed in. You deserve it and besides there's nothing you can do about it until Monday anyway so make sure you are in your best form for the classes at hand. The past has happened, tomorrow isn't here yet, just focus on what you can do today and take care of yourself.

Deal with what they say Monday when it comes; there's no way to know for sure. There are all sorts of possibilities within schools and then things you can do to improve in the process with whatever is decided. Whatever they say, there's no point wasting time or energy on what you don't know for certain. Whatever it may be, your goals are still there and they cannot keep you from them as long as you focus on your work, do your best, and keep going forward. If it comes to that, there may be a bit of a detour but that is all that it is. You'll be back on track in no time, really, but it may not come to that. So do what you need to this weekend to work on your immediate goals (current classes, relax, and time for yourself) and go forward from there. It will all work out.

Thank you so much Fresia. It just can be so frustrating sometimes . Leaves me all stressed out for no reason. It's just one more bogus test I have to take.
