I am a senior in High school and I have been absent 15 days and tardy to class 21 times. Why? I have been depressed and my Anti-depression meds have been making me ill. I am on the verge of facing truency and the only way to stay in school is to keep my grades up. I'm struggling but I am managing it is hard having so many things going on at once and still be able to graduate. How can I handle it all?

Hello, LostInThought92. Do your teachers know what you are going through? They may be willing to help you get caught up.

Good luck.

That doesn't sound like sneioritis....that sounds like a real issue. Doesn't sound like you are simply bored and choosing to skip, but rather a real problem that needs handled. And, if you are planning on going to college, that should be dealt with right away because college only gets tougher. What do you think the root cause of your struggles are? I understand depression but, is it something specific about school? Is it really just because you are at the finish line? Is your time in high school not enjoyable? Is it that you don't know what you will do after graduation?

There are a lot of reasons that could be simmering and you not even realize it, y'know? Is there one issue that maybe sits in the back of your mind all the time?

Byzan, They know they simply don't care. They aren't paid to care.

Saluki, Thanks to answer the questions its that I have a social anxiety and when I'm depressed I hate being around people.

I kind of disagree that they aren't paid to care. Why do people get into a position working with young adults in a very stressful time of their lives if they DON'T care?! That drives me insane.

If it is social anxiety and the size of classes that are the issue, is it possible for you to have a tutor? That way it can be one-on-one? You would still have to go to class but, at least that way, if you are distracted by your anxiety during class you can still catch up in a calmer environment. Have you spoken to your parents about this?
