Hiya everybody!
I need some guidance as I am having to appeal my financial aid suspension. I have never been through this before. I had to take a medical withdrawal this last semester. Any advice would be appreciated. Love and hugs, Tara |

It would help to know why it was suspended. Did they suspend it because you were not enrolled full time? And now it's suspended even when you ARE a full time student? I have never had mine suspended before so I don't really know.....sorry

Yes, I would check with your school's financial page/counselors and see how it works for your school and if they can help you. Maybe this site can give you some ideas?

Get a note from a doctor regarding the medical withdrawal. You should (theoretically) be okay since they can't discriminate against you if you withdrew for medical reasons.

I remember getting notices from financial aid and school that the suspension policy and appeal process had changed this last year. Unfortunately however, I could not find on their website how to go about doing this. I would contact the school, as Perna mentions above, to find out how to go about doing it and as Christina mentions, get documentation from your medical providers to support your withdrawal as well for this part of your appeal. There may be particular forms or formats though that they require, so find out first before you contact your physicians.
This summer I might have had to withdraw due to medical and the school said financial aid would have been suspended because of it. It could be appealed on those grounds though with medical documentation. I would definitely be in contact the school's financial aid office and get who I need to be in contact with to get the information I need to file. I hope you are feeling better. Wishing you all the best and GOOD LUCK! ![]()

I have had this problem before because I failed some of the courses I was enrolled in. All you have to do (usually) is go to the schools website and there should be a financial aid appeal form to print out. I had to meet with an advisor and they had to fill out part of the form and then I had to fill out the rest stating why I had trouble the semesters I did. Then you turn it in and wait for a response from the school (usually by mail). Make sure you include the documentation to prove there was a reason you were having problems (medical papers, note from the doctor, etc.). Good Luck!
