Hello, I am new here but I wanted to say a bit about school stuff. I am a junior in college and I am transferring back to a the college I originally started going to. in 2008, I was struggling a bit with some stuff, not even sure what a diagnosis was and I still don't have any idea. Labels don't matter to me but I think it was something like depression. Anyway, I had to withdrawl and and take some time off. I did transfer to a school closer to home last year and did fine, I made the deans list but I am transferring back to this other college to complete my degree. There are many reasons why I am transferring back, one is it has a very well known and awsome study abroad program. Since one of my majors is German, this made sense and the other school (the one closer to home) does't have a German program. I have grown so much over the past 2/3 years or so now and have become a much healthier person. I am confident in that I will succeed at this school, but I can't help but be a bit nervous of going back because of some of my old professors. I had a bit of a drinkng problem amongst other things and felt I made a bad impression. Although I still maintained a 3.5 GPA, I really want to show them I can do well without all the other issues along with it. The professors have all been good to me but I realy want to just get my foot in the door, on the right foot anyway I just wanted to share my story in relevance to school.

Have anyone on here ever transferred or had to withdrawl for reaosns relevant to this site? If so, tell me about it. I am just gald to be a lot healthier now.

Thanks everyone who read this.

Wunderbar! Good for you for taking time away and finding what works for you! Having withdrawn myself under similar circumstances and going back, the transition back into the same school was anxiety provoking but when I got there, people were very supportive. There were some things I had to be careful of, to not trigger old routines and habits, so to be mindful of this but is easy to avoid just by creating new things to do and new habits. You've had time to already establish some of these things and will be easier to continue and to avoid. It helped to have a plan in place and people to call for support for things I knew that might trigger me, just to be prepared. It will, however, go MUCH smoother than you think. Take things moment by moment and enjoy being back. Wishing you all the best!! Viel Glueck!

PS Once again I can't remember where the umlaut is on the keyboard, hopeless, sorry.
