Hey just wondering has anyone taken the "new GRE's" test yet. If so, how much "math" was in it?
Thanks... Crew

Hi Crew,
The new GRE doesn't start until August 1st. So no one has taken it yet. The math section is significantly changed from the old test. It would be best for you to go to the library and check out a book on the new GRE from the Princeton Review or the ETS if you want an in depth information on the new test. Some of the changes are being able to use a calculator, but also some questions are not multiple choice any more. Instead you have to write in your own answer. You are also allowed to go back to previous questions in some parts of the test. The test will no longer be computer assisted. This means that the difficulty of the questions will not change based on whether you got the previous question right or wrong. There are also significant changes in the reading/writing part of the test. They have removed the antonyms and the analogies. I have heard that they have made the reading comprehension harder. I don't know what if anything they have replaced the antonyms and analogies with. I hope this helps. Good luck if you are taking it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thank you ((((googley)))
You've been helping us all day long.... I can't even say how much I appreciate you... I know I ought to have stayed in the line for the golden tail.... figured all the Harry Potter fans would have bought them all up. Thanks for being so helpful!!! I was researching this for my neice. So thanks, she had trouble in the math area yet she is a Marine Biology and all is in science. She didn't pass the math part which caused her to have to retake the test which will be the new one. Thanks again, your greatly appreciated, ![]()

Hi Crew, She will need to restudy for the new one as the tricks used will be different and the format will be different. She will need to study as if she had not studied for the previous GRE test. I wish her luck. |
