im stressed because i cannot go back to school until spring because i've been suspended for a semester due to bad grades... they seemed to ignore the fact that my grades were getting progressively better ending my last semester with all A's. this completely threw off my good stream of motivation... and now not in school although not exactly my fault entirely, it adds to my depression making me feel like a loser.
i want to be going to school so badly... it distracts me in a good way and helps with my depression. |

Hi, Welcome to PC.
How old are you? If you are in primary or secondary school, can you ask your parents to step in? If you are in college can you talk to the counseling center at the school and see if they can help you? Those are my suggestions. Good luck. |

Hello Aimee. You are not a loser! Kindly do not call yourself that.
It is tough to become motivated again, but I feel that learning does not stop even though you are not in school. Take this opportunity to learn something new in this world, something you might have wanted to learn and learn more about that something by venturing the internet, books, magazines, and the like. Life is all about learning, one way or another. Learning never ends. Take care! Have a beautiful day, everyday. |

First off, I'm glad you can not only distract yourself and take your mind off depressing things, but that it happens to be providing you with an education. Hittin' 2 birds with 1 stone, I see.
As for the getting suspended even when your grades were improving...I don't really know what to say other than don't give in. Obstacles like this will only make it that much more satisfying walking across that stage. I promise. |

The whole situation sounds quite unfair to be honest

Sometimes you can appeal a suspension if the reason was due to medical or other issues. Some schools have an appeal process for suspensions, others do not; check to see if yours does.
If it was depression that was the cause of your grades or something else and if you were seeing someone (doc(s)/therapist/counselor) who can document your depression or what you were going through, you may be able to appeal it to get it expunged from your record, and so you have no barriers to going back there or anywhere else. To support your claim, your grades you mentioned were improving, this can also help support your case and with your documentation as things were changing again, beginning to improve. This will be encouraging for them to reinstate your status and to revoke a suspension. Every school is different but make sure about what you need to do to be able to return the next semester, even if you don't or can't appeal. I don't know if this will help with the circumstances you've described, but I wish you luck. I know it's not easy sitting out. Sending you the best of wishes! ![]()
