I feel like my life right now is completely pointless.
I don't think I'll ever be able to move out of my parents house and become successful or really happy.. I have a mediocre retail job that only pays enough to pay for the gas in my car and the car insurance. I never want to go to work (ever. No matter what the job is) I can't go back to school.. I have no money, no SAT or ACT score, and a D+ high school transcript.. All this is the only reason I'm still depressed, even with the meds.. I wish I knew what to do. Any advice is worth it.. |

Hi
I think that going back to school is a good option. Otherwise you may be stuck in retail. I dont know that you need SAT/ACT or great grades to attend a community college. Plus you can get financial aid (Pell grant) to pay for classes. It couldnt hurt to make an appointment with a guidance counselor at your local community college to discuss your options. You dont even need to know what you want to do with your life to get started because the classes you need to take are just the basics. Its the same for everybody. Doing something, anything to address your future needs will make you feel better. Welcome to PC. You will find a lot of support here. Make sure to check out the chat rooms. Hugs. ![]() |

I would definitely check into community college, it sounds like you are unhappy with the direction your life is headed right now.
The community college's are a lot less focused on your high school grades and test scores though there may be an entrance exam, my mother has a GED and is a student now. Personally in high school I had an awful GPA (1.38 I believe) and decided to do online college which works well for me though made me less eligible for aid. However I do well in school 3.91 GPA currently which proves it is never to late to make a positive change in your life. I waited over 10 years after graduating but should have done it much sooner. ![]()
