So as far back as I can remember I have always had problems understanding what I have read, and now I'm reading faster, and remembering what I have read.... Could this happen with the lifting of a depression... could the meds really change my cognition that quickly???
I'm excited... it wont take as long to read what I need to read today... YAHOOOOO!!!! The question remains.... could I see the disorder again? (If I fall back into the depression pit) Any thoughts?? |

So happy for you that things are going better!
I notice a difference in cognition and memory when depressed versus when the meds are leveled out and the depression lifts. There is definitely a difference for me as well. So I am careful to watch for signs of depression to head it off and as I start to slip, doc tweeks the meds to prevent it from getting full blown. Pay attention to the symptoms and stay in contact with your doc for any help, that's what they are there for. Wishing you well with your studies! Good luck!

Yes your depression can effect your ability to read and comprehend what you are reading. It may come back if your depression comes back. I have trouble with stuff like that when I my depression gets worse. Then it recedes when the depression gets less again.
