Okies, so I go to school in Scotland and our education system is different to like, everywhere. I am following the SQA programme which is actually finishing after my year. Here is a link which explains the SQA programme, just 'cause its confusing and I'm lazy tonight http://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/CCC_FirstPage.jsp
So, yeah but the problem is that I'm in 4th year and just got my Higher course choice sheet. I got all Credit passes at my Prelims and have my proper exams in 9 weeks, but I can pass them so it fine for any subjects I want to take. I wanted to take 5 Highers (which is the highest you can, and is incredibly difficult and only leaves 1 free period a week. Most people tend to drop a course or leave as its stressful. Everybody usually takes four.) I could have taken 5 but they won't fit on the sheet, as you have to take one subject in at least four columns but you can't take two subjects in one column. To go to uni I need 4 Bs at Higher and some standard grades which I already have. I am definitely taking English, Math and Art as they all fit. I was also planning to take RE and French, but they're in the same column. I have to choose one or the other. My question is thus: which should I take? I enjoy both and hate having to choose

Thank you for looking!

Sure, I'm pressed for time, so maybe this information was provided, and I missed it, but what is "RE"?

RE stands for Religious Education. It teaches about cultures, world views, gender equality and religion from the views of different people around the world.

Interesting. French or religious education? I think your choice should depend on which one might be most helpful in your future plans.

What are you going to do in college? Which will help you most with it, the French or the RE? A lot of RE can be learned reading books; I'd do the French, which requires actual practice and "work" and maybe buy the RE textbook and do that on my own, see if I wanted to take it as an elective in college.
