Yesterday my roommate that I will be staying with next year texted me. I was (and still am) extremely excited. But I'm scared she won't like me. I'm scared I haven't been saying the right things. I'm just anxious and worried. It just hit me. I don't know why...

It seems like such a cliche to say "dont worry just be yourself" but sometimes it does work". I was in rez for most of my university life and for some reason it has always worked out with roommates. You both know you have to live together and thus youre both willing to put the effort into liking and respecting one another. Hope it goes well anyway.

Sound like fairly normal anxiety; and, as zazamaria says, sometimes it does work to just be yourself.

It is completely normal to be nervous before starting or actually getting to know each other but most of the time it works out fine As said above, just be yourself. I'm sure it will be fine

It's very scary getting one's first roommate. It's someone you don't know and who doesn't now you and yet you'll be stuck in a 10' x 10' room for at least 6 months, if not more together! :-)

It's natural to be scared; I'm sure she is too. Just tell yourself you aren't scared, you're excited (they do feel the same; how "scared" are you on a roller coaster or in a haunted house, etc.?)
