I've had very strange reactions to school stress. My question is the wrist pain that I'm feeling actually from the stress of 17 credits, and me just feeling like I'm in over my head. So the pain that I have been having is spastic and strong. Going from a 2 to an 8 in less than a second. First time it occurred was prior to a performance that I was stressing over because of inadequate practice time. Next time it happened was 2 days later with the brace too tight... and then it continued to happen through out that day and into the night. I did call my doc, and my pt.

So now last night I didn't sleep well, today I have a heat wrap on that is helping with pain but I'm still stressed. I was suppose to work this weekend but due to the pain I can't risk.... which is leading to sadness and disappointment. I was looking forward to working, and to practicing clarinet. With this info, what's your thoughts.... is it stress or pain caused by something else?

I did find out that I have tendonitis in another tendon.... so not fun. Due to pain and overuse, it's harder to study.

Oh nooooo! That sounds terrible! I hope it heals up soon. I guess I just advise plenty of rest. Intersperse studying and relaxing is my favorite thing when I get crazy headaches and stuff. Good luck!

I would back off the total work and time-in-one-sitting. Did you try to take on too much at once, at the beginning? I am sure mental stress is not helping your wrist but could be trying to win Rome in a day instead of a week is doing it too. I would rearrange your dreams a little and substitute an overall physical activity for a class or two. Mostly stress tells us we are out of balance; not bad, wrong, lazy, a failure, slow, etc.

I learned from my stress and anxiety that I cannot fight myself and win, I have to work with myself not use my head and will to hammer my body or emotions.
