Hi!
I am an introvert and I am in highschool. Sometimes I just need some time by myself. I did the musical this year and that was almost too much! I was around people from 6:30 in the morning until 9:30 at night. It was way too much for me. I also don't like being touched and at my school everyone tries to hug you. Why don't people understand that I just like to be by myself sometimes. Does anyone know some ways to survive high school.? |

Ahhhh. Personal space. Some people are just much more touchy than others. Sorry you have to go through that. There are plenty of ways to survive high school but I think the most beneficial thing that I do is building a mental space to relax. Kind of a teleporter and you can imagine whatever place you want. Mine is a beautiful library with ceiling to floor windows overlooking a garden. Decorate it however you want and the rules are whatever you decide. Usually they include things like: no negative thoughts. No other people. It's just a place to rest.
On the other hand you can also tell people that you aren't big on hugs and stuff and hopefully they'll respect your personal space. If I want space I tell people I'm off to take a walk around the school or get something from my locker. It gives you more air away from people. And usually if you go by yourself you can just zone out for a while and recharge in some empty classroom or bathroom. You can also say that meditating is your new thing and not to bother you when you're finding your inner peace ![]() Best of luck! |
