I study languages a good deal with the hope of one day being a translator, and I've noticed an occasion where, if I'm listening to someone talk even in English (my native) I just can't understand a word that's said. Once at work it sounded as though Charlie Browns teacher were speaking and not a person. Most of the time the words become a blur and I suddenly can't think too clearly. It happens only for moments mostly. Is this just a case of too much concentration? Is there a way to know when you're spending too much time concentrating beforehand?

I would think it could be that you are sort of overtaxing yourself. If it continues, then you could talk to a doctor about it.

Could it be that you're stressed? I experience the same issue myself which also manifests as difficulty processing didactic instruction (especially during lectures). It's as though the words wash over me/bounce off my ears but don't enter my brain. >< I attribute this to my bipolar though, so if you don't suffer from that then perhaps try taking a break to clear your head?

You are over exhausting yourself with all kinds of languages. Just go with slow pace and learn one thing at a time.
