I have a hard time finding appropriate music - something that would be a nice background but at the same time not grabbing me so much that it is hard to focus on flashcards. If you have ideas or links to playlists on YT, I would be very appreciative of tips.

I listen to Longplayer especially when I write papers. I also listen to Brian Eno and Carbon Based Lifeforms.
Longplayer YouTube has a lot of meditation and relaxing music that isn't distracting.

I usually find an hour or two hour loop of Pachelbel's Canon to be good study music. And believe it or not, an hour or two hour loop of Daft Punk's Get Lucky does it for me. Sometimes Haddaway What Is Love on a ten hour loop. Anything that doesn't have a lot of words going on and maybe is repetitive works for me.
Good luck. |

Thank you all! For two days, I have had
running in the ground on low volume and I am loving it. Better than silence and better than music that makes you stop writing flashcards and listen to it. |

Depends what kind of flashcards I'm doing, & what I'm doing.
If I'm writing flashcards, I can listen to anything. If I'm reviewing vocabulary flashcards, I need something without lyrics. Doesn't matter what genre. If I'm reviewing flashcards with text/paragraphs, I try to listen to something without lyrics. If I'm doing math flashcards or something that isn't necessarily read like a sentence, like logic problems, then I can listen to anything. If it's boring, then I try to listen to something more upbeat to keep me on task. |

My music is the loud construction outside my window. I would recommend something less distracting, possibly ambient.
