I'm in a Clinical Psychology and the Law case, and we have a paper topic to choose and I'm wondering if it is a smart idea to write a paper on "Effect of Media on Suicide Clusters." For me, it could be triggering but I'm also biased on the topic. What would you do? Choose a different topic, (one example, Mentally Ill Criminals in Idaho/insanity) or stick with the effect of media.

I always chose papers that were personally interesting to me, that I thought would be helpful to me. like my last paper in a theory class was on mindfulness. but you have to weigh whether triggering you is going to be worth it. are you going to be able to handle it. I was traumatized over and over in school. I don't know I managed to make it thru..i guess I really didn't do it successfully..i was hospitalize twice, having a major breakdown and being hospitalized against my will and then going in a year later voluntarily. I just dropped out of grad school recently because I decided my mental health couldn't handle a repeat. only you can decide how stable you are to handle it.
