I have so much work to do and it's killing me. I know I waste time sometimes (by taking a 30 minute nap each day and have a homework-free hour), but I'm always running out of time.
The stress is getting to the point I can't eat or sleep. I'm starting to have suicidal thoughts, which sucks. |

taking time for yourself is very important, but running out of time is creating you a lot of stress. so do you need both the nap and the free hour? I would start by cutting down the free hour. how much extra time do you need to complete your tasks? can you do your tasks first and take your free time after you complete them? can you do a task, take five to ten minutes free time to relax before starting the next one, or do you need it all in one chunk? are there some other things you are doing with your time that are unnecessary that you could cut out so you could prioritize your time to the things that you really need to get done. sometimes there are things you want to do that you may have to say no to, like helping other people, because your own needs have to come first. take care.

Hi,
Download a timer like the pomodoro timer, do your work for a certain amount of time and then when that time is over take a break. It takes time to get used to but it works. |

I stayed indoors for the past 2 days. I was feeling horrible. I walked outside today and the beautiful weather smacked me in the face. My mood lifted 90%. It's very easy to forget how much being outside in nature can change your entire perspective. Some days I'm just like, no I don't want to go outside I don't care how nice it is, there's nothing for me to do outside, I'll just stay inside. But taking that extra step to maybe walk around your block for fifteen minutes, makes a world of a difference.

It is not a waste of time if you take a nap or devote your time to activities other than your homework. However, you need some flexibility in your approach. For example, some days, you may have more work or a difficult assignment to complete, then you may have to consider skipping your homework-free hour. Also you may reward yourself on another day by extended homework-free time if there is not much to do... Important thing is that you learn and enjoy whilst you're completing your assignments because otherwise it may not be worthwhile if you do it just for the sake of it.
I wish you well! |
